Wish me n' Teph luck! On Saturday we're in Newport competing in a Smash Bros. tournament!

Went down to the beach this afternoon for some sun and sketching somewhere other than inside the flat. Here's the results:

The first is Mana ready to face off against a creature from Shadow of the Colossus, and the second is a landscape inspired by the view of this particular hill with the mast on top of it, which is visible from the beach. I say "inspired by" because I rushed to finish the sketch as the incoming tide approached closer and closer, so more precise details were left out, and others (like, oh say, the planes shooting down Godzilla on the mast that stands atop the hill) were added because that's what I wish I saw every time I look at that hill.

It's about F***ing time!

Well, I guess I shouldn't be too hard on Teph for missing out on Valentine's Day.



Looks like he had spent the majority of his month-long journey scouring American malls for the right ring. Hehehehe, we're engaged! ^.^

Just to show that I have been working on something lately, here's a Valentine "e-card" I made for Teph. He had been on a trip to America for the entire month of February, missing Valentine's Day in the process :P

When I'm doing quick warm-up sketches, I try to do subjects that pose a challenge to me in hopes that it helps me get some practice before I spend the rest of the afternoon drawing things within my current comfort level. As you can imagine, not many of these warm-up sketches are presentable enough to post on this blog. Yesterday though, I felt it necessary to take a break from that and doodle something from my favorite subject - cute things. Behold, a baby chocobo:


Maybe sometime this week I'll give it an outline and some color, since it shouldn't take too long to do.
